The house works in texture — techniques thatpull, gather, and fold flat cloth into somethingwith depth. Tension is introduced and then held.Fabric is drawn in until it gathers its ownshadows, folded until the light has somewhereto catch and somewhere to fall. What begins flatends up with terrain. A Rouvé garment is built inlayers, and those layers are the work: structuremade by hand, deliberate, worked into the clothrather than added on top of it.This is why the pieces read two ways. Fromacross a room, a single clean line. Up close, theline resolves into everything holding it — thepull, the gather, the fold, the quiet architectureunderneath. Nothing is flat. Nothing is only what it firstappears to be.
